Best Neighborhoods to Move to in Columbus in 2025

Moore Movers Team

Columbus is growing fast, and the neighborhood you pick matters a lot. We've moved people into and out of every corner of this city. Here's what we actually see on the ground.

Short North

The Short North runs along High Street from I-670 down to Goodale Park. It's dense, walkable, and loud on weekends. If you're moving into an apartment here, expect tight parking and narrow alleys. The 43215 and 43201 zip codes are almost entirely multi-story buildings — confirm elevator access before booking movers, because a 4th-floor walkup on a Saturday in June is nobody's idea of a good time.

Moving tip: Many Short North buildings require a Certificate of Insurance from your moving company before allowing the truck on property. We carry $1M COI and can email it same-day.

German Village

Brick streets. Seriously — the streets are brick. Moving trucks navigate fine, but tight corners near 3rd and Livingston require patience. German Village (43206) has some of Columbus's most beautiful older homes, which also means narrow doorways, steep staircases, and the occasional piano that makes movers earn their money. Budget extra time for furniture-heavy moves here.

Dublin

Dublin (43016, 43017) is one of the most common destinations for out-of-state relocations to central Ohio. Newer construction means wider hallways, attached garages, and easy truck access. Moves here tend to run efficiently. If you're coming from out of state and need a full pack-and-move, this is a great area for it.

Worthington

Worthington is a quiet, established suburb north of 270. Older homes in the 43085 zip code can have narrow staircases and side entrances that complicate large furniture moves. The area is mostly residential with wide streets — parking is never an issue. Good school district if that's your situation.

Grandview Heights

Grandview (43212) is one of the smaller municipalities in the Columbus metro but one of the most in-demand. Small yards, older bungalows, and street parking only. Movers have to work efficiently here because you can't sit on a residential street for 4 hours without drawing attention. We've done dozens of Grandview moves — it's totally doable, just requires a crew that knows what they're doing.

Upper Arlington

UA (43220, 43221) is where you'll find mid-century ranches and two-stories with big yards. Good truck access, long driveways, not much to worry about from a logistics standpoint. The city does require a parking permit for moving trucks in some areas — check with the city before your move date.
